From the brand
Creators of the Original Blue Jeans.
In 1853, Levi Strauss, an immigrant from Germany, opened a dry goods company in San Francisco at the height of the Gold Rush.
While he was working, he recognized a need among hard-working people: clothes built to endure anything. He and tailor Jacob Davis combined copper rivet reinforcements with tough denim, leading to the first manufactured waist overalls in 1873.
The blue jeans was born.
The Different Red Tabs: A Mark of Quality
There are different variations of our well-known red tab. Some say LEVI'S, some say Levi's, some don't call out the brand at all. For special editions we sometimes even change the colour.
What they all have in common? Be assured the Levis Tab stands for quality and craftsmanship synonymous with the brand.
